The PA Way

Sechs Fragen an … Skevi Constantinou

Skevi Constantinou ist Gründerin der Plattform The PA Way.

English version below

Ich dachte sofort: «Das ist aufregend, was ist The PA Way?»

Six Questions for … Skevi Constantinou

Skevi Constantinou is the Founder of the platform The PA Way. Her mission is to support Assistants and Business Support Professionals to obtain the reward, recognition and celebration they deserve in their profession and have fun doing so.

You are the founder of The PA Way, a platform for assistants. What is the idea behind it?

It is a global professional learning and lifestyle platform for assistants and business support professionals. My mission is to help empower, inspire and motivate them through an online membership. On the platform we host masterclasses, monthly group coaching courses, we invite speakers and trainers, to educate our members on skills they could require for the role. I also launched and created the first app for the profession, where members can connect and support each other across the world. They share best practices, learnings and resources so they all continue to level up together, whilst being a part of an amazing community which I call AssistantHood.

How did you come up with the idea?

In February 2018, I woke up having seen the concept for the platform in my dream. I thought, this is so exciting, what is The PA Way? As I tried to google it, I realised it didn't exist and then a lightbulb went off in my head and I said «Wow, I want to create this!». I got so excited that I decided to teach myself the skills to be able to build a membership platform for our community.

You call your members Loyal Royals and want to treat them like a boss. Why is that important to you?

As assistants we are always there for our executives or the people that we support. I have seen and heard my wonderful colleagues in the profession not be recognised or celebrated to the level they deserve. What I would like to do is take the assistants out of their executives’ shadow and put the spotlight on them to treat them as the VIP that they are. Organisations run because of our profession, so I want to celebrate them, because they work so hard for other people.

Part of the experience of The PA Way are your regular events. How did you manage during Covid times when personal meetings were impossible?

It was challenging, but my skills as an EA came through very quickly. I just pivoted the business and took everything online. We did online learning and also did some socials. We even had an online spa treatment, where everybody got a kit before the meeting with everything they needed. It was so much fun!

Apart from the fun stuff, you do training and development. Why is that important to your members?

As they say: Work hard, play hard. The industry is always changing and it is my role to help members, so they continue to stay on their A-game and are equipped with the latest technology and resources. I want them to stay one step ahead professionally. When you level up professionally, you also grow personally and vice versa.

What are your plans for 2022?

I plan to do more in person events again, for sure. I already did three events this year and in October, The PA Way will have ist first learning and development conference which is called Rock and Glow Festival, to celebrate the rockstars in our profession! I envision a festival that is very different from other conference and my mission is to bring keep ensuring we level up!
